Why creating a new amorphous drug combination

Benefits of amorphous combinations:

Currently, drug combinations are produced by mixing two or more compounds without considering any change in final solid state. The drug mixture is not considered an added value by itself.

Conversely, Activery believes that the generation of stable amorphous drug combinations provides a new and innovative route to final dosage forms with differentiated pharmacokinetics. Having developed a new proprietary process (ASP - Atmospheric Supercritical Precipitation), Activery is now able to produce diverse amorphous drug mixtures in the micro- and nanometer range.

Improved Bioavailability

A change from a crystalline to an amorphous form enhances solubility and performance of these compounds.

Extended Patent Protection

Creating new and innovative solid state forms of pure APIs or their mixtures may strengthen new strategies for defense or entrance in mature markets. Non-crystalline states especially for mixtures are often unknown, thereby creating a unique window of opportunity for patent protection or generic market introduction.
